If you have a need to issue keys to tenants you should consider a Restricted Key system. This type of system ensures greater security as only ourselves can cut an additional key after we have received the correct authority. A new and replacement key can only be ordered by an authorised person, either signed letter with a correct signatory or electronically ordered online at www.clementslocksmiths.co.uk using a secure password. Lee Clements is Managing Director of Clements Locksmiths. He says: "Knowing who has the keys to which doors is an issue every agent should consider important. Clements Locksmiths offers a full service solution to property managers - and that includes escorted visits. If you need to gain entry to a property we are prepared to walk in first." Consider these two Plus points. Point 1: In many systems, the key is not uniquely identified. The key holder generally signs a record book confirming that they have been given "a" key. Problem: There is no control or regulation governing the duplication of conventional lock and key systems. Most key blanks are readily available at any hardware store or locksmith shop so spare keys can be cut. The letting agent is left to wonder who actually holds what key. Solution: A Restricted Key system identifies that key with a unique serial number. It is the only answer to unauthorised duplication. You control the number of keys in existence. Your signature is held on file at our security centre and unless that signature is matched by anyone requesting a key, it will not be cut. Point 2: An increasing number of tenants are asking for a change of locks when they take on a new tenancy. Since it is common to bring at least one computer/laptop, I-pod, music and televisions systems etc with them, they are more than ever aware of the need for increased security. Problem: Many insurers may not pay out if there is no evidence of forced entry at a property and multiple burglaries may negatively affect the final selling price of the property when it is disposed of. Solution: By using a key that cannot be duplicated without proper authorisation, you retain control of who has access to your property, A Restricted Key also introduces the concept of answerability to the key holder who understands that they are responsible for the key issued, and could be charged for a lock change if the key is lost. GIVE YOUR TENANTS PEACE OF MIND KNOWING THAT NO UNAUTHORISED KEYS ARE FLOATING AROUND PROTECT YOUR BUSINESS YOU WILL ALWAYS GAIN ENTRY TO YOUR PROPERTY ASK yourself the following questions:
Are you still sure? If not, don't be left in two minds. Call Clements Locksmiths Know who has your keys. We can manage this for you. What is a Restricted Key? A unique security lock, which uses a Restricted Key system to provide high level of security. How does it do this? It uses a patent protected key design that cannot legally be copied. Furthermore, the key blanks to Restricted Key locks will not be available at the local shoe repair shop. The peace of mind that a Restricted Key offers is tremendous because when you fit one, you know that it will be impossible for someone to duplicate a key that will fit your lock. In fact, the key to a Restricted Key lock is so unique that only a Restricted Key will fit into the lock. What happens when you need a replacement key? If a replacement key is needed then it can only be obtained from the locksmith that the lock was first purchased from. Furthermore, the letting agent will only be supplied with a new key when he has satisfied a series of security procedures that can be done online at www.clementslocksmiths.co.uk using a secure password |
